WILL EISNER IN THE NEWS: NEW YORK TIMES PREVIEWS WILL EISNER¹S LAST GRAPHIC NOVEL, ³THE PLOT²
Spring is shaping up as ³The Season of Will Eisner,² with today¹s publication of two full pages of art and story from Eisner¹s final graphic novel, The Plot: The Secret Story of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (W.W. Norton). A spot-on short text by Peter Edidin explained the Protocols history on the back page of the Sunday, April 17 edition of ³Week in Review² and quoted Eisner¹s widow, Ann.
I reviewed an advanced edition of the hardcover this week and it is easily one of the best published editions of Eisner¹s work ever. A must for any Eisner fan, and certainly for anyone interested in his sure to be controversial attack on the anti-Semitic screed. It will be in stores May 16.
The book includes an introduction by Umberto Eco (³The Name of the Rose²) and an afterword by Rutgers University Professor of Political Science Stephen Eric Bronner.
